When Two Become One

Chapter 3

“Ok Hinata, this is what happened.....” Naruto began........but he somehow couldn’t continue.

All the blonde boy could do was now stare at the girl sitting before him

The way that she was sitting in his chair, she had curled her legs up in front of her and put both arms in front of her chest, like she was anxious but was smiling at him, he wasn’t sure why but she looked cute sitting in HIS chair....he thought about that for a moment... he never let anyone sit in that chair, not even Sakura....why Hinata all of a sudden....and why did she have him so memorized.

Naruto couldn’t break his gaze of her, the way she looked had him captured, the way her hair sat on her face....the way she smiled at him...

“N-Naruto-kun?” she asked him barley able to make a noise let alone say the boys name.

“Oh yeah sorry Hinata.....I...I....” Naruto didn’t know what to say, he was always told to be honest and if unsure go with your instincts, and this was Naruto “Hinata, can I say something?

“U-um Su-sure Naruto-kun” Hinata replied

“Well I don’t want to make you feel awkward but....but you look really pretty sitting like that....I usually never let anyone sit in that chair, but I’m glad I let you sit there” Naruto Finished, blushing crazily “I-I mean that your welcome to sit there, and if your happy there please stay but you don’t have to sit there if you don’t want and um..Yeah” Naruto tried to save himself but it wasn’t working too well

“Oh....N...N-Naruto-kun...A-a-arigato” Hinata blushed but smiled to let him now his compliment was well taken “I-I-I’ve never h-h-had anyone t-t-tell me I-I-I w-w-was p-pretty”

“Um, well, y-you, are.....” Naruto said to bolster his compliment to the shy girl, of which he had never noticed it before...”And you should think so too....Uh well yes I really should keep telling you how you wound up here...ok.....hmmmm, where was I?”

“I-I-Think you were at the s-s-start Naruto-kun” Hinata said with a giggle

“Oh yeah...he he” Naruto chuckled rubbing the back of his head “Well you see it all started like this”

Naruto stood up and moved over to where his new found clothing was drying

“I woke up this morning and found these” Naruto held the fiery clothing up for Hinata to see “And I decided that I should wear them since the nice girl who sent them to me should know that I really appreciated her gift”

Hinata's face almost exploded in a mass of red......they were the clothes that she had made especially for him.....she remembered spending many nights sewing the material together and making sure that it was the right size, thankfully Sakura had obliged to take his measurements for her after she had explained the gift she was making for him, and Sakura working while he had been in the hospital told the knucklehead that she needed to take his measurements to track “how much he had gown”.... he was none the wiser, but Hinata also wondered why everyone was so willing to help her with anything that involved Naruto.

“O-oh, H-how do you know it was a girl” Hinata asked, feeling a little more confident knowing her love liked the gift she had given him

“Well it was bundled with a really pretty note, Now where is it again” Naruto said a little worried as he began searching ”Ahh here it is, the writing was really pretty and it smelled nice and had nice paper too, I’m going to hold onto it so I can show that girl that I really appreciate it”

Naruto was blushing a little as he explained it too Hinata, he didn’t feel shy in front of Sakura and Sasuke since they knew the whole deal, but he thought Hinata didn’t know about his struggle with loneliness and decided not to put that onto her........little did he know that was one of the many reasons why she loved him so much, that he had persevered through the darkness to be the man that was before her.

Hinata remembered back to that night....the night she had written that note.....she had actually written so much more, confessing everything to him, her love, her devotion, her promise to always be his strength...to be HIS....but alas she did not have enough courage to submit all of it to him, but she had still kept it, so that one day she would be able to hand it to him and tell him everything, but for now she would wait.

“T-That’s really sweet Naruto-kun, I’m sure whoever it is who gave you those, knows that you appreciate them” Hinata’s confidence grew more and more with the more Naruto said to her...but still not enough to confess.

“Yeah....I know.....but I want to find her and...and” Naruto was struggling to find the words.

Hinata was creeping to the edge of her Naruto's seat in anticipation, waiting to hear what the hyperactive blonde would announce.


“Ahhh it doesn’t matter, I’m sure you don’t want to hear this...he he” He chuckled realising he was straying off topic “.......but back to what I was saying”

Hinata Slumped a little...she had hoped to hear more of what he would do when he found the “mystery girl”, tingling on the inside knowing that it was her that he was talking about.

“After I had found these and decided that I should try and find this girl, I ran into Sasuke and Sakura....gosh I can’t believe they are getting married.....but anyway” Naruto said once again trying to stay on topic....for some reason he was having quite a lot of trouble concentrating....he kept finding himself staring at Hinata and having to snap himself back.

“I went with them to the markets then Sakura left me and Sasuke to talk for a bit, I think she called it ‘guy time’ “he decided to not tell her too much about the whole discussion he and Sasuke had, “And then I went to their house for dinner was good too, it wasn’t ramen but it was a pleasant change”

“Uh-huh” Hinata nodded to show her foxy blonde boy that she was still interested, heck she wouldn’t of cared if he was talking about ramen the all its wonderful uses, she enjoyed hearing him talk, it soothed her soul and made her feel happy.

“We decided to talk about the old days until Sasuke had to go on an ANBU mission....it must be a hard life having to leave at a moment’s notice, but I couldn’t imagine a better ANBU operative” once again Naruto was having to bite himself mentally to stay focused “after Sasuke left I hung out with Sakura for a little while talking about....” Naruto had to think fast “some stuff he he, we talked for a while , I could see Sakura getting tired,  so I let myself out, only to head home and  trip on that upon my arrival”

Naruto pointed to the pile of letters on the couch.

“W-what is that Naruto-kun?” Hinata said asking about the curious pile.

*Sigh* “Fan mail” Naruto said a little down “I have to reply to them since as Baa-Ch...Well Mum says 'A good Hokage must show the people he loves them and replying to their mail is the first step'” Naruto making a scrunched up face trying to impersonate Tsunade

Hinata couldn’t help but giggle at Naruto; Naruto couldn’t help but stare at her smile

*She really has the cutest smile and laugh I’ve ever seen* Naruto thought

“Anyways continuing, after my run in with my fans, I remembered that I left my jacket at Sakura’s house and for some reason I had to leave to get it, I know that sounds crazy but I really wanted it with me since I know the person who made it put a lot love into it, and somehow it made me feel special” Naruto explained “And after picking it up from Sakura, luckily she was up too otherwise she might’ve gotten scary”

Hinata and Naruto shared a little laugh thinking about Sakura with bed hair stomping down to end whoever it had come to wake her.

“I started heading home that’s when it started raining, and that’s when” Once again Naruto had trouble keeping his mind on the story, well the whole thing at least, all he could really vividly remember was Hinata stuck in the rain, cold and wet.

Naruto looked up at Hinata, the look she had on her face showed her complete attention towards him, waiting for the next syllable from his mouth

*Wow she’s really enjoying my story* thought Naruto, well at least she likes to listen to me.

“That’s when I found that I can make it home 15 mins faster if I leap across the rooftops, that’s when I saw you trapped by the rain” Naruto looked hard at her “I had to help you, something told me that I had to stop, I don’t really remember much either after that, I know I ran really hard to get to you quickly, and then after that you passed out I had to bring you here since I couldn’t remember where you live and I needed to get you warm to prevent you from catching cold or getting really sick”

Naruto said smiling whilst rubbing the back of his head

“..........A-a-arigato Naruto-kun” Hinata said softly

“It’s ok Hinata you’re my friend and.....” Naruto stopped “what’s wrong?”

Naruto had noticed tears trickling down Hinata’s soft pale face

“N-n-n-nothing Naruto-kun” Hinata said as she tried to hide them

“Hinata.......I’m sorry if I have upset you” Naruto learned forward and wiped the tears from her eyes with his fingers “I only meant to help”

Hinata looked up at her spiky blonde hero; she had to fight the urge eating her inside to reach out and hug him, to hold him close.

“N-n-n-no it’s not that Naruto-kun, just n-n-no one has ever cared so much about me” Hinata said once again barely above a whisper. “And....and you did all of this for me”

“It’s ok Hinata, all that matters now are that you’re safe and sound” Naruto was left with one decision that he had almost forgotten about “Now about what to do now?”

Hinata looked at him confused

“It’s late....” 12.47am to be exact when Naruto glanced a look at the clock “I don’t know what we are going do about getting you home....it hasn’t exactly stopped raining and you don’t have anything warm to wear....and if Neji saw you in that” Naruto suddenly had the thought of Neji screaming at him and threatening to close chakra points in certain areas for good

*shudder* Naruto started thinking of other possibilities...

“Even trying to get you to someone else’s house would be hard, hmmmm” Naruto thought hard on what he should do but little did he realise Hinata was doing some thinking of her own.

*Maybe he’ll ask me to stay her here night...This may be my only chance to tell him....* Hinata’s head was a jumbled wreck she didn’t know what to think about the situation....but it didn’t matter she was with her love, in his house, in his clothes.

“Hey Hinata?” Naruto asked, snapping the girl back to reality

“Y-y-yes Naruto-kun” She answered

“Why were you out in this time of night anyway, I mean it’s not my place to question your business but I’m just concerned” Naruto learned forward with a look of concern in his eyes “Is everything ok?”

Hinata sat dumbfounded at what she should tell him.....should she tell him that she had decided to go to Sakura’s to speak to her about the conversation she had with her farther.

She remembered what had happened, she knew her father was a hash man but recently since she had become stronger and after the battle of Konoha, he had been spending more time with her, visiting her mother’s grave, talking to her about life and passing on advice, but the conversation she had recently had stuck in her mind, it had not been bad, but bolstering, that he was encouraging her to be strong, it was still fresh in her mind from the same afternoon.

“Yes Farther what was it you wanted to speak to me about” Hinata said as she walked up the steps to where he was sitting, she had learned to at least speak to her farther without her stutter since he had said to her in order to make others see your strength even when speaking to them you must sound strong in your words

“Ahh hello daughter, please come in and sit with me” Hiashi had asked her to come and seat with him at the pagoda in the garden “Hinata, do you know how long it has been since I sat out here and marvelled at the beauty of these Sakura trees?”

“No farther I do not” Hinata answered taking a seat opposite him

“Since just before you were born Hinata” Hiashi said sadly “After I became the Clan head, I did not have much time for anything, which included even your dear mother”

Hinata was awed at this side of her farther, never had he spoken of past experiences with her mother, especially before he became the Hyuuga Head

“we used to sit out here all night and talk about our future together, we were greatly in love Hinata and that is why I am so distant now, because after becoming Head of the Hyuuga clan, I could not find the time to tell your mother that I loved her, like I have not been able to find that time now to tell you” Hiashi said turning to his eldest daughter

“What are you getting at farther?” Hinata had become confused at his change of personality

“Hinata I’m saying that you need to find your true courage and confess to him: Hiashi spoke boldly but strong “You need to tell him before its too late”

Hinata froze on the spot; he couldn’t be talking about HIM could he? Not Her Naruto, he despised him more than anyone else.

“I’m s-sorry farther, I don’t understand” Hinata responded faulting for a second due to the situation

“Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki, Is this not the boy you love Hinata?” Hiashi asked with a smirk wanting his daughter to be strong and confirm her love “well is it not?”

Hinata couldn’t move, how did he know

“What do you mean farther, confess what?” Hinata tried to play dumb but her farther, possibly the strongest wielder of the byagukan didn’t need it to see through her attempt to throw him off.

“Oh so you don’t love him then” Hiashi was trying to trick his daughter out of her confession “Well maybe an arranged marriage would be ok then for you th...” He was unable to finish

“NO FARTHER PLEASE DONT!” Hinata yelled suddenly “I CANT LOVE ANYONE ELSE, I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GIVE MY LOVE TO SOMEONE ELSE YOU CA” the young Hyuuga was also cut off

“It ok Hinata, I may be distant but as the Hyuuga head it is my job to know everything inside my household” Hiashi said reaching out to her hand “I was only mocking, to see how you would react, I knew that you would not enjoy being forced to try and love someone else but I also knew that with the love you hold for him, that you would fight with all your strength”

“I don’t understand farther, why this all of a sudden” Hinata couldn’t understand what her farther was trying to do

“Hinata, you have become strong, a lot stronger than I could’ve thought, and from watching I was able to see something was driving you, it wasn’t so much me that you wanted to make proud but someone else, it wasn’t until I saw you with him that I put it all into place” Hiashi stood up and moved to the edge of the pagoda “your time to become head will come and then you too will find it hard to have time to do anything, but I know that if you are able to find your inner strength now to confess to him, that with him by your side you will become the strongest Hyuuga Head ever”

“Farther....are you saying that you would accept him as.....as my boyfriend?” Hinata started to tear up not just from her father’s speech, but he cared for her and wanted her to be happy.

“Hinata it is so much more than that, true once long ago I did not see him more than the container of nine tailed Kitsune, but he has shown us that he has not let such a burden rob him of his pride and determination to be a great shinobi....no....to be possibly the most powerful Hokage in the history of Konoha.”

Hiashi turned and faced his daughter

“You must confess before it is too late, just like the petals of these Sakura trees, things can change so quickly and what was once there, is gone.”

“Thank you farther, I will do you proud” Hinata stood tall before her father’s gaze

“Do not do me proud dear daughter, it is yourself that you must do proud, embrace the strength of the Hyuuga and conquer your fears and show the Uzumaki boy your true colours”

The Hyuuga head finished and with that returned to his seat

“You may take your leave now daughter, I have many things to think about here, but please take heed of my advice”

“Hai Farther I will” Hinata turned and began walking away

“Oh and Hinata” Hiashi added

Hinata stopped and turned her head to look at the new man that was now her farther

“Yes farther?”

“I love you Hinata, be strong” and with that Hiashi turned back to face the Cherry blossoms dancing in the breeze

“Arigato Farther” Hinata said softly

“Hinata? Hey Hinata? You there” Naruto said waving his hand in front of her face while giving a chuckle

“O-oh s-s-sorry N-Naruto-kun” Hinata said feeling a little bad for drifting off.

“It’s ok you just look like you were thinking about something?” Naruto said letting her know that it was ok

Hinata thought about the conversation with her farther again, and decided she needed to show more strength if he was going to recognise her, she wouldn’t confess now, but she would begin trying not to stutter

“I-I-I Decided to go for a walk s-s-since I couldn’t sleep and was heading to Sakura’s to talk to her” was the shy girls answer to her crush’s question.

“Yeah I know what that’s like, I used to go and see Jiraiya sensei but since he married Mum, he’s been busy doing personal research” Naruto said cringing, thinking of his so called parents....doing research.....


“Well as I was saying what are we going to do?” Naruto was trying to think of what to do with the Hyuuga girl now “Well I guess....I mean if you want, you could......you could...”

*Dammit, why can’t I say it, it’s not that hard jeez* Naruto howled at himself mentally

“You could stay here...with me...” Somehow Naruto felt good after saying that “I mean in separate rooms of course”

“r-r-really Naruto-kun” Hinata was astounded by his suggestion even though she had secretly hoped that he would ask her

“Of course Hinata, my home is your home, you are welcome anytime” Naruto said with a smile “I mean don’t feel like you have too...If you would rather...”

Hinata summoned up whatever strength she had and forced her answer out

“Hai, I would love to stay Naruto-kun” Hinata replied whilst beaming a bright red

“Well it’s settled then” Naruto said getting up from his spot on the floor “I'll go get the spare mattress out and set it up and you can help yourself to my bed”

“A-a-are you sure?” Hinata said surprised

“Yeah of course, I can’t let my guest sleep on the floor, especially out here, at least in my room you will have your privacy” Naruto stated to her

Hinata didn’t care about privacy, she wanted to be wherever her Naruto was going to be, she knew that his bed was big enough for both of them, but she couldn’t ask something like that..was feeling this way even right?

Naruto went about telling Hinata the funny things him and Sasuke used to get up to when he stayed over, and how Sasuke said that he should get his bed since he was the guest along with a breakfast in bed service. The whole time Hinata was giggling at his stories as he carried on whilst preparing the bed for her.

“Y-y-you and Sasuke must have a lot of fun” Hinata asked

Naruto stopped and his face looked a bit sad

“Yeah Hinata we did, until he and Sakura moved in together, I miss hanging out with I’m but I know that what couples do and he has to make sure that Sakura is happy” Naruto said with a very serious tone “So he can’t hang out much anymore, but I suppose if I had someone special too I would like spending heaps of time with them”

Hinata felt bad for upsetting her Naruto, he was so happy and she ruined it

“I-I-I-I’m sorry Naruto I didn’t mean to-“ She was startled by Naruto now standing right in front of her almost like he was going....going to kiss her

“Hinata, it’s not your fault ok” Naruto said “But I want to say thank you for tonight”

And with that Naruto reached out and hugged Hinata gently, almost like romantics do

“thank you for spending tonight with me and listening to me, you really are an awesome friend, and I bet you have made some guy really happy” Naruto said letting go of her but then he noticed she had a pained look on her face..

“What’s wrong Hinata?” Naruto gently said to the girl

“w-w-w-well Naruto-kun I d-d-don’t have a boyfriend” Hinata felt silly telling him that but hoped that he would see it as an opportunity to ask her

*Well at least I’m not the only one who hasn’t found someone* Naruto thought

“Really? Well I’m sure it won’t be long before some boy takes your breath away” Naruto said trying to comfort her

*Oh Naruto-kun, a boy has.....a boy more special than anyone else I have ever met, you my beautiful Naruto-kun* The Hyuuga thought, wanting to tell him everything that fluttered around in her head

“I-I-I-I-I Hope so too” Hinata responded still shy and glowing *I wish he could see how much I love him, then I wouldn’t have to be scared to say it*



“Well your bed is all setup, is there anything else I can do for you your majesty” Naruto joked making a bowing gesture trying reverse the awkward situation he had created

Hinata giggled and tried to play along without being shy

“T-t-thank you kind sir, I may a-a-ask that” she paused, not wanting to ask him for one last favour

“That what my lady” Naruto said still joking around hoping she would ask him

“Would you mind tucking me Naruto-kun?” Hinata said poking her fingers together

Naruto was awestruck; did she really want him to do that? Did she want him to tuck her in?

“Uhh sure, OK why not!” Naruto said showing excitement

Naruto followed Hinata to his room and pulled back the covers for her. She climbed under to have Naruto gently moved to her side and tuck her into his bed, the next thing that happened she didn’t expect, but would make the evening complete for her

“Goodnight Naruto-kun, thank you for your kindness” Hinata said closing her eyes already succumbing to sleep

“Goodnight Hinata, I hope you’re feeling better, in the morning we’ll get you home but for now sweet dreams and if you need anything you come and wake me ok?” Naruto said gently his hand unknowingly resting on hers.

Hinata felt so warm and happy, she felt like everything was complete and she just had to make it official

“Thank you Naruto-kun” Hinata answered in her euphoric state “I’ll try not to disturb you”

“Hinata, it would be a welcome change to have someone else to wake up with in my little house” Naruto said sounding grateful Hinata was staying with him

With that he rose up from the bed and was about to make his way over towards the door

*Everything is perfect, he is happy with you being here, tell him dammit* Hinata scolded her self

“N-N-Naruto-kun!” Hinata almost yelled

Naruto had just stood up but froze on the spot and looked at her awaiting her voice

“I-I-I-I” Hinata Stammered “I hope you sleep well!” She fumbled the answer out slipping back under the covers to try and hide her face, shutting her eyes as well to avoid more embarrassment.

*OH HOW I WISH I COULD SAY I LOVE YOU NARUTO UZUMAKI!* the Pale beauty cried in her head

“Thank you Hinata, your always so kind to me I hope you sleep well too” Naruto said while moving down to her face, “Sweet Dreams Hianta-chan” and placed a tender kiss on her forehead thinking she was already sleeping.

“I’ll see you in the morning” he whispered as he tip toed out of the room only to look back at her “sleeping” form and with a smile he shut off the light and closed the door.

After Naruto had gone Hinata laid there with tears trickling down her face...not in sadness, but in joy, joy that her Naruto-kun had kissed her goodnight, that he had called her Hinata-Chan, just the whole way he had treated her that night made her feel like screaming in joy, she felt like she was his girlfriend....and how much she did not want the feeling to end.

She drifted off again thinking of everything that had happened and that with the kiss he had given her, touching the spot on her forehead... it was still warm from his lips...she smiled and lay there , tears of joy and a new feeling in her heart and her new confidence that the boy had given to her.

Naruto walked out to the lounge room and lay down on his mattress and began thinking about the night that had just gone by as well.

*What did I just do!* He thought to himself, * I just brought Hinata here, gave her my clothes, let her sit in my chair, gave her my bed, tucked her in and, and, and*

*You kissed her boy* the fox growled from the depths of his prison

*Fox? It has been a while since we have exchanged words* Naruto answered turning in the barren room that now was his mind to see the being that he shared his body with

*Indeed it has boy, indeed it has, this has been quite the evening hasn’t it?* the fox said with a tone of interest

*You must want something fox, why do you care what happens to me* Naruto said with a slight tone of apprehension

*Boy, I may be a demon but I too know the feeling of loneliness, it is a bitter taste that even the sweetest of sakes cannot wash away* The fox answered *but can I ask why did you act the way you did towards the girl?*

*I wish I knew fox, I don’t know I guess just wanted to make sure that she knew I cared* Naruto said kicking his feet around in the room that was his mind

*Maybe you like this girl boy? Maybe you want to be close to her?*   the fox said slyly trying to fish a response from the blonde

*No, it’s nothing like that....well at least I don’t think it is? I’m looking for the girl who gave me the note and the clothes remember* Naruto said confused about what he even felt

*Ok boy if you say so, but I would probably look at the situation, what if you don’t find the mystery girl and you miss this chance with the Byagukan user, you may regret it and once again you will be left alone* the fox said trying to offer advice to the knuckle head ninja

*Hmm, I don’t know fox., I don’t think I like Hinata that way, I mean I know I kissed her, but it was only friendly and* Naruto didn’t get to finish

*Well why so much thought on it then hmm?* the fox stated *If you don’t like the Hyuuga girl then why trouble yourself with the thought*

*I don’t know, I mean I know now that I’m not the only one who doesn’t have somebody...but she’s Hinata Hyuuga , from the Hyuuga Clan, the Clan of Nobles and Honour and all that....and I’m...I’m..*

Naruto was not expecting the next response from the Cunning Nine Tailed Fox

*You are you, you can’t be anything more and you shouldn’t be anything less, but as you are you are the son of the 4th Hokage who possibly was the most powerful of all Konoha’s leaders, You have defeated the Akatsuki and saved Konoha* The Fox recited

*Yes I know that, but what’s your point Fox?* Naruto stated

*That you my boy are More than worthy of someone’s love as well as giving your love to someone, and I’m saying that you should at least think about everything that has happened, but I know that you will see what is now obvious* the foxes voice was calm and soothing for once as he tried to bolster the boy that was his container

*And what would that be fox?* Naruto was interested in what the fox thought he knew about him

*That you have developed feeling if not already fallen for the Hyuuga, you now wish she was your special person...it may not be what your mind is telling you but I know from in here that’s what you soul wants* the Fox smoothly rolled off tongue

Naruto couldn’t think of why, but the fox's words felt right....

*Think about these words boy, “sometimes the answers we seek cannot be found when we look but are discovered when we stumble upon them”, now be gone I too have my slumber to tend too* and with that the fox had slinked back into the darkness of his cage.

Naruto laid there thinking after his conversation with the nine tailed demon,

Could he be developing feelings for the Hyuuga girl, he thought about everything that had happened

*What if the fox was right and I am starting to like Hinata? What about the mystery girl...ARRRGH!! I DONT KNOW!* Naruto thought becoming frustrated

*Well I’ll see how things go tomorrow....I hope I didn’t scare Hinata with that kiss, I mean she won’t take it that way because she doesn’t like me....but what if she does..arrrrh why do women have to be difficult* once again Naruto became frustrated with himself

*Hopefully I’ll figure it out soon, but now I should really be getting to sleep, a big day tomorrow of soul searching heh*

Naruto did though drift off to all the fun times he and Hinata had that night and it wasn’t long before he too had fallen asleep but not long after he did the nightmare came back......

While in Naruto’s room Hinata had awoken from the storm outside still raging, she had initially had trouble sleeping due to her lifelong love kissing her goodnight, it was only a peck but a kiss none the less, but the storm was getting quite rough, shaking the house with each thunderclap and she had gotten scared.....Naruto said that if she needed anything for her to come and get him

Well at the moment she needed him, she wanted him to hold her and keep her safe from the storm but she didn’t want him to think of her being silly and it wasn’t until she could hear in-between thunder claps a voice, a voice that sounded like Naruto’s, but sounded like he was in distress, she climbed out of bed and crept out to where her love slumbered and what she saw worried her deeply....

He was clutching the covers sharply and was sweating profusely, she was worried and didn’t know what to do, she wasn’t sure if she should awaken him, then she heard him utter a few words...

“Urhh, No please....p-p-please come back, everyone? Uhhh...muh, everyone? Please don’t leave me here....I’m not bad...please I’ll do anything just come back.....”

His voice intensified as it went on, but as he finished a large thunderclap roared down

“PLEASE COM E BACK DONT LEAVE ME!”

At that moment Naruto snapped up and saw Hinata kneeling next to him looking worried

“Wa-what, huh, Hina....Hinata? Is everything ok?” the boy asked “did the storm wake you?”

Hinata nodded slowly but as she did she looked at him with concern

“Are you ok Naruto-kun?” she asked him moving closer, she was deeply worried for him which for once the boy could see

“I’m sorry Hinata I didn’t mean to worry you, it’s ok it’s just a nightmare, its comes and goes” Naruto said with a tone of comfort trying to not worry the indigo beauty that sat before him

“Did you want me to tuck you back in?” Naruto asked hoping that she would say yes

Once again the Hyuuga nodded but with a sign of cuteness

“Ok then” Naruto lifted up from his mattress and took Hinata’s hand “Ill guide you since its dark in here”

He knew she had the Byagukan but for some reason he wanted to lead her, Hinata felt the same, she said nothing since she could’ve easily navigated her way back but being lead by her Naruto, like he was protecting her, made her feel like she belonged to him

“Here lay down Hinata-chan” Naruto cooed to her

She lay down onto his bed again, but this time she looked up at him as he moved the covers over her, wanting to ease his pain, she could still see the dream troubling him.

“Naruto-kun are you ok” she asked

“I’m Fine Hinata, it’s just a nightmare that I get, don’t you worry your pretty head about it ok” Naruto said to convince her it was ok “There we go Hinata, Not only am I a master ninja , I’m a master tuckerinerer he he”

Hinata giggled at him but her heart fell knowing that once again he was just being strong

“Ok Hinata sleep tight I’ll see you tomorrow” Naruto said flashing a small smile as he got up leave

But suddenly something stopped him, it felt firm and strong as if it would never let go, but yet soft and inviting, as if trying to comfort him.

“N-Naruto-kun” Hinata said softly “please don’t go”

He looked down and it was Hinata holding his hand, Naruto was lost for words, luckily though as Hinata had swallowed hard and was about to make ground

“I heard you in your dream, please stay here with me, that way you won’t be alone...plus....-I-I-I'm a little scared of the storm” she said blushing at being scared but held her composure to show him she was serious

Once again Naruto was awestruck

“Hinata I-I-I don’t know what to say...”

“Please say yes Naruto” she replied tears beginning to form

“Oh Hinata” Naruto said back also trying to bite back his own tears.

”Please don’t cry, I’ll do anything for you” the blonde said sweetly

Hinata gently pulled on his hand to guide him down next to her; Naruto gave in to her invitation and lay down next to her, pulling the covers over them both

They were laying there facing one another and it wasn’t until Naruto spoke up...

“I-I'm-I'm sorry Hinata, I didn’t mean for this to happen, this wasn’t my inten-----“he was silenced with a finger from the raven haired beauty now staring at him

“N-N-Naruto-kun its ok, I asked you....I know you’re too sweet to do something like that” she said smiling at him

Naruto began to tear up and all of a sudden he moved his hand to hers and gently pulled it to the space between them, as if to make sure she could see it.

The next event that happened managed to steal Hinata’s breathe away.....

“Naruto?” She said, she was happy by the way he was acting but unsure as too why

Naruto entwined his fingers with hers, and Hinata returned the same motion until their hands were clasped together

Naruto began stroking her hand with his thumb and looked at Hinata, She had such a beautiful smile, and she looked so gorgeous, he felt a wave of bliss wash over him.

*What should I do, dammit why did I hold her hand, what am I going to say,* Naruto panicked

Then Once again the Fox’s voice rumbled inside his conscience

*Tell her how you feel boy, tell her that you don’t want to be alone, she must feel the same way, she didn’t want you to leave her* the Fox said coaxing him on

*I know I’m getting feelings for her fox but what about the girl who wrote the note, what should I do about her* Naruto asked desperately not knowing what to do with the situation he had now created

*I don’t know Boy, you will have to decided whether or not you want what is here right now, or throw it away and look for something you may never find* the fox reiterated from their previous conversation *But I know that if it was me....I would take what you have now*

Naruto didn’t know what to do; he was confused and torn between what he had in front of him and the possibility of finding the girl who caused all this to start in the first place.


Naruto decided to bite the bullet and put it out on the table.

“Hinata” Naruto whispered “there’s something I need to tell you......”
